The very creative and quirky minds at Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art have announced a new grant that is community generated and in support of "innovative art makers, wise-crackers, and trailblazers based in Arizona."

Five proposals from the local arts community will be chosen and select artists will present their intentions during the Good 'N Plenty grant event on Friday, August 10, at SMoCA Lounge.

Community members will pay $10 for admission, which includes an assortment of desserts from La Grande Orange, coffee from Cartel, and a night full of local creativity starting at 7 p.m. Each attendee has one vote to place with their favorite proposal. The project with the most votes will be awarded the cash grant (organizers estimate it will be between $400 and $900), composed of the money raised during the evening's event and from SMoCA's Arm Wrestling for Art event that took place a few weeks back. Sweet deal, indeed.
