Amateur skateboarders from all over the world battled it out in the 11th Annual PHXAM contest this weekend. First place won $3k; second, $2k; third, $1k; and $2500 went for best trick. A number of locals were among the top contenders, but first place went to second time winner, Ben Hatchell from Virginia.

The Phoenix Type In Brings Typewriters and Instagram Madness to Lux Uptown's Lux Coffeebar hosted a slew of typewriters and typewriter fiends on Saturday. The event was organized by The Magic Margin, an educational experiment run by Ryan Adney and his English students at Alhambra High School in Phoenix. And while Adney's used to seeing a room full of typewriters, the crowds at Lux were a little more surprised.
