It's no secret that we're big fans of what lies beneath. Last year, "underground" was the theme of our Best of Phoenix issue -- we even created an interactive map of Phoenix that includes photos and interviews with local archaeologists and creatives from underground scenes.

If you're as interested in Phoenix's tunnels, artifacts, and stories, as we are, you'll want to check out Phoenix Underground, a talk and tour given by Logan Simpson Design archaeologists Mark Hackbarth, Greta Rayle, and Mary-Ellen Walsh tomorrow night.

The three have worked together for the last few years on data recovery investigations in the original Downtown, an area that's located inside prehistoric Hohokam territory long before the Phoenix Convention Center and CityScape.

The lecture is free and is the latest in an educational series organized by Downtown's Rosson House Museum. This month's event will meet at the Arizona Science Center Annex from 7 to 8:30 p.m..

Archaeologists Laurene Montero from the City of Phoenix and Todd Bostwick from PaleoWest and Verde Valley Archaeology Center will also be speaking.

The Arizona Science Center Annex is in Heritage and Science Park, 105 N. Fifth St. For more information, see the Arizona Preservation Foundation website or call (602) 261-8948.
