Our annual Big Brain Awards celebrate emerging creatives in a variety of media throughout the Valley (and give them cash prizes to put toward their passions).

And while you'll have to wait until this afternoon to find out who the finalists are, you're more than welcome to start gearing up for Artopia, an event full of music, food, and art, where we'll announce the 2013 Big Brain winners.

Mark your calendars and sign up for the Arts & Theater newsletter by Sunday, March 24, and you'll get an email by 10 a.m. on Monday, March 25 with an exclusive code and ticket link where you can buy tickets early. (Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Thursday, March 28.)

On Saturday April 27, from 7 to 11 p.m., we'll be honoring six winners in the categories of craft, design, online, visual art, culinary, and performing art at Monarch Theatre in downtown Phoenix.

So grab a ticket ($10) early by signing up for the Arts & Theater newsletter. And stay tuned for the lineup of finalists and participating artists and vendors.
