Memory Loss

If you’re reading this from your personal computer, consider yourself pretty damned lucky to have easy access to such badass technology. Once upon a time, the only computers in existence were machines like the World War II-era ENIAC (Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer) and the Cray-1 supercomputer that weren’t exactly available for purchase at the neighborhood Best Buy.

Now that these endearing beasts have faded into a bygone era, we should give it up to these awesome advances in machinery. Do so by checking out the “Core Memory: A Visual Survey of Vintage Computers” exhibit of photographs by Mark Richard, a 14-time champeen of San Francisco’s Communication Arts Photography competition who also published a book by the same name.
