There's some pretty nasty gossip floating around sports punditry that Justin Upton isn’t long for an Arizona Diamondbacks uniform. The 24-year-old right fielder and one-time all-star has had a relatively uneven year at the plate so far this season (to put it best) after suffering a thumb injury back in April. It’s earned Upton accusations of goldbricking, as well as a steady chorus of boos at recent home games. Even worse, he’s widely rumored to be on the trading block.
In other words, this weekend’s series against the Houston Astros might be one of your last opportunities to boo, er, see J-Up in action. Ditto for the ‘Stros, who are moving to the American League West after decades of competing in the senior circuit and won’t be visiting the Valley as often to face off against the D-Backs.
