It’s really easy to predict how well an NBA team will fare. Pretty much you just count the number of superstars on the roster. By this logic, the Phoenix Suns figure to be bottom-dwellers this season. The Suns traded away their only true star player (two-time MVP Steve Nash) so you could expect that wins will be pretty hard to come by this season.

On the other hand, there is a strong potential that the Suns could be vastly improved this season due mainly to their acquisition of forward Michael Beasley. The 23 year-old has shown the potential to be one of the best forwards in the league but hasn’t put it all together yet. If Beasley can reach his potential, then the Suns -- who also acquired Goran Dragic to replace Nash -- may just be a playoff team.

You can get your first look at Beasley on Friday, October 12, when the Suns play their preseason home opener against the Portland Trail Blazers.
