Top 5 Things to Do in Phoenix This Weekend

Looking for ways to fill up your weekend? Here are your five best bets for getting out and about in the Valley of the Sun.
Louis CK @ Celebrity Theatre Louis CK is a creative-control freak. The guy directs, writes, and stars in his FX show Louie, picks how, when, and where he tours, and sells tickets to his performances directly to fans through his own website.
Sounds a little overbearing, sure. But fans of the comic's comic appreciate his all-encompassing dedication. After all, it means we get funnier, better, more insightful experiences with his work -- because we know it's all him.
That's why, when CK rescheduled his December stop in Phoenix for February, we were totally okay with it. More than okay with it - we were ecstatic. The comedian will perform four shows that will be taped for his upcoming HBO special at Celebrity Theatre. And if the perfectionist is being recorded, we know he's bringing his A-plus-plus game. Good deal, if you ask us.
While all performances are sold out as of this writing, we're told that additional tickets, $45 and up, will be released for CK's Saturday, February 16, performances at 7 and 10 p.m. Tickets from December's canceled shows will be honored.
Third Friday Field Trip @ Practical Art Get your Third Friday on with the ladies of Practical Art . Head to Practical Art at 6 p.m. for a happy hour hangout. The crew will take to the streets at 7, biking, carpooling, and railing, and head to The Lodge on Grand.
Selections: The All AZ Shorts Show @ Bragg's Pie Factory In its tenth year of bringing indie flicks to the Phoenix masses, No Festival Required presents a screening of selected short films, ranging from documentary to experimental in nature. Get an eyeful at Bragg's Pie Factory Saturday. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the films begin at 7. Admission is $5.

PREZ DAY WKND @ Sidebar Hurray for presidents. Hurray for partying. Hit up Sidebar on Sunday for a POTUS-tinged edition of Retro Hi-Fi. The house music gets bumping at 9 p.m. There's no cover, and drinks are 20 percent off all night.
