If motorcycling were considered a religion -- which, according to Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, it is -- then North Scottsdale will become an absolute Mecca over the next week or so. Thousands of hawg-heads, weekend warriors, and easy riders will mount their hardtails and converge on Westworld, 16601 North Pima Road in Scottsdale, during Arizona Bike Week.
Beefy bikers and their buds will stage the Valleys version of The Wild One writ large and take over the equestrian center with their steel steeds, partaking in five straight days of partying and cycle-oriented events, including workshops, charity rides, races, and performances by such rip-roaring rock bands as Warrant and Buckcherry.
The motorcycle mayhem kicks off Wednesday, March 30, with activities including the Miss Arizona Bike Week Pageant in the HandleBar Saloon, a Hero Party hosted by Barry Caraway of the Cycle Riders, and an all-day concert headlined by Skid Row.
