Head shops aren't known for their appliances, but we recently stumbled upon something at local store Herb N Legend that might change that: a top-loading, mini-washing machine...for making hash.
The machine, made by a Canadian company called Wacky Willy's, looks like a plastic toy appliance. It's only about three feet high, and holds around five gallons of water.
People have been making their own hash for decades, often using something as primitive as a large spoon to separate trichomes from pot leaves in water. But devices like the Wacky Willys washing machine makes the whole process a lot easier, and faster.
It sounds easy enough, but such convenience isn't cheap. The newest Wacky Willy's machine, the Bubble Hash Blaster, runs on 110 volts of power, can produce seven grades of hash, and costs nearly $500 (that's if you order online and pay an additional $85 shipping; the single model at Herb N Legend costs $530). Accessories can cost anywhere from $7 for a one-gallon hash bag to $60 for a dry ice hash bag.
