Since there's really no better accessory than a cocktail in your hand, each week Jackalope Ranch brings you a tasty adult beverage from one of our favorite drinking establishments, complete with recipe. First up: the White Rabbit at SideBar.
SideBar's White Rabbit is a grown-up take on the rice milk horchata ubiquitous to the Valley. No need to worry about the inevitable milk mustache. 'Staches are in, right?
(recipe after the jump)
Ingredients:
Frangelico
Smirnoff vodka
Godiva White Chocolate Liqueur
Horchata
Vanilla sugar for the rim
The specific ratio of ingredients in a White Rabbit is a trade secret at SideBar, but for a variation on the generic White Rabbit cocktail, you would be wise to mix three parts Smirnoff and Godiva liqueur to one part horchata, Frangelico to taste. Shake over ice and strain into a vanilla sugar-rimmed martini glass.
Vanilla sugar can be created by splitting a whole vanilla bean lengthwise, scraping free the seeds and allowing them to impart a warm aroma to two cups of sugar over the course of a week or two.
Wedon't know about you, but two weeks is entirely too long to wait when our boozy sweet tooth is aching. Instead, save yourself the time and guess work by heading down to SideBar and allowing them to personally escort you down the rabbit hole.
