In these dog days of summer, any interaction with the outside world is just a foggy, sweaty blur that will break your spirit if you can’t find a way to break from the mundane. You stay inside. You go crazy. Maybe you look through the spare closet of sweaters, coats, and your Halloween costumes thinking, “Soon it will be cool. Soon I will wear you.” All of a sudden you’re standing in your living room wearing a penguin costume, longingly waiting for October.
Thankfully there's an alternative. It’s Halloween this weekend at the Salt River, where thousands will let their summer freak flag fly at the annual Halloween Spooktacular Saturday, July 21. Ride Betty’s Haunted Bus to the river, and then wear your freakiest, weather-friendly costume as you float in the cool, refreshing waters. You’re weird, dude. Might as well embrace it.
