Yes, Mercury Is in Retrograde
Now, we're not big believers in signs and superstition, but the abundance of bizarre in our own town (of course) and nationwide had us wondering: What's up with people claiming we'll be immortal by 2045?, Who thinks leg advertisements are a good idea?, Since when were zombie-hunting trucks a good idea?, And who the hell is going to kill all the jumping cockroaches?
Thanks to this website, the mystery is solved.
In astrology, when planets are "in retrograde" -- or moving in a direction opposite of other bodies within the same solar system, as observed from a certain vantage point -- there seems to be a fallout of unfortunate events and general weirdness for all involved parties.
For those who read into horoscopes, Mercury is a very important planet. It rules truth, clear thinking, and communication. Right now, Mercury, as observed from Earth, is closer to the sun and therefore appears as if it's moving in reverse. This happens for a couple of weeks a few times a year. And when it does, things start to get a little messy.
According to Is Mercury in Retrograde?, we have nine more days of madness, including dead car batteries, lost keys, traffic accidents, forgotten appointments, strange arguments, weird emotions, and overall chaos.
There's not much we can do beyond backing up our digital files, carrying jumper cables, packing Band-Aids, and making a few extra cocktails. So buckle up. It's going to be an interesting week.
