Valley diners have more options for Indian fare than most European cuisines, so this is a tighter race to judge than some of the other categories. And though we've rarely met an Indian spot we didn't like, Scottsdale's Tandoori Times garners the glory on taste alone. Its portions tend to be a bit smaller than at other places ? though reasonable prices help make up for this. And there isn't as wide of a selection as you'll come across in other Indian restaurants. But the flavor of TT's tandoori-cooked meats is more intense than elsewhere, and the quality of the curry gravies seems higher as well. As an added bonus, there's nothing dingy about the clean, airy and smart dining area. And it boasts a couple of the better sweets in town: a nice-size bowl of rice pudding (kheer) with raisins, and those large syrupy pastries known as gulab jamoon. If we pick Tandoori Times this time around, it doesn't mean we don't love the Valley's other Indian places ? we just love Tandoori Times a little more.

Vegetarians Beware!!

I am writing this with frustration abt the negligence of this restaurant & their disrespect towards vegetarians.

I am a strict vegetarian & this was my first lunch at their Glendale location. I was happy with their Salad, Naan & Daal. It did not last too long when i found a piece(considerably big) piece of Lamb in my Aloo matar. I grew a little suspicious & asked my non vegetarian friends to confirm it. Indeed it was a piece of Lamb. My NV friends also felt really so bad that they left their meal half way through. Guys Show some respect for Vegans or otherwise clearly mark your restaurant as NV Only. I dont have the confidence to visit this restaurant any more with this incident at the back of my mind & looking at my food suspiciously. I want to eat my meal with a peaceful mind.

I was taken to TT by a recruiter and while I may not have had the aparent breadth of experience in Indian cuisine that Jyoti, Seema, Seetha have; I am familiar with what is good food. TT's sauces are fantastic. I've been to plenty of Indian places over my life and this one is head and shoulders above what I've been to before. Saying there are better indian restaurants just doesn't cut it. My momma always said you shouldn't point out a problem without a solution. So until someone else points me to an Indian restaurant with better food than this place, Tandoori Times is the king.

I don't know how this restaurant was named best of phoenix for indian food. I would not waste my time going back for another visit. The atmosphere was nice but the food fell short of my expectations. I wish I could say the experience was as colorful as Kat Leonards description but it wasn't. This wasn't a good representation of authentic indian food.

I agree with Jyoti.. the food is mediocre and the service is terrible.. I wouldnt recommend this restaurant for good authentic indian food.. there are so many others in the valley that are much better

Kat Leonard and Vineet Snood are friends of the owners. Their opinions are biased and inflated. Tandoori Times does not stand up to other Indian restaurants in the Valley. The restaurant serves only a mediocre menu and the staff is rude.

Tandoori Times has a delightfully charming staff and the best Indian food this mouth has ever devoured. To me, successful dining is all about flavour. The food at Tandoori Times is succulent; it melts in your mouth. It makes your taste buds stand up for attention and yearn for more. Your jaw tingles with flavour sensation, your mouth envelops the blend of heavenly textures, and your stomach warms with a thankful bliss. There really are no words to describe the magnificence of Tandoori Times, so I earnestly suggest everyone bask in the experience first-hand. And all will be understood.
