Let's be honest: Vegans are a major pain in the tuchis. Never mind abstaining from eggs, milk and cheese; they won't even eat honey, people, lest the bees be exploited by man. This is why most vegan-friendly fare bites. Customers for this cuisine are more concerned with their own hairsplitting ethics, and don't mind punishing their palates for the cause. So flavor falls victim to morality. Unless you're talking about Tempe's Green, where they at least make an effort to craft vegan vittles that are a joy to nosh. Hey, you try cooking without any animal products whatsoever. You'll be lucky if everything doesn't end up tasting like sand. Green overcomes this handicap most of the time, with cheese, milk and egg substitutes, well enough to please even the occasional carnivore who wanders into Green unprepared. Green's vegan pizzas and Asian-style bowls are actually tasty. And the chocolate chip cookies and peanut butter bars truly kick some skinny vegan fanny.

I'm not vegan, but I have a lot of allergies and eating vegan saves a lot of trouble with special ordering. Green is an absolute favorite but I find your article extremely rude. Even if you feel that way, it was very unprofessional to put in so many negative comments into your article which were not part of the actual review. I eat at Vegan restaurants as well as others and often enjoy Vegan food. If you really think that the only way to flavor food is meat and Dairy then I hate to think how bland and boring your cooking must be. Your obviously not much of a foodie, I recommend that you find a meat and potato magazine to review for. Although personally I season my potatoes as well. By the way cheese doesn't count as a seasoning esp. the bland stuff served in most restaurants. Just who did you think your readers would be for this article anyways? Nobody care's about your narrow minded opinions, in which you think only the food you're used to could possibly be any good. Next time stick to writing about the restaurant. Would you write about Thai politics if you reviewed a Thai restaurant? I certainly hope not.

I also think it's pretty silly that 80% of the review is taken up with slamming vegan food. Green is awesome, and I'm sure it will win "Best Vegan Restaurant" again next year, and maybe by that time they can write something less insulting.

I just love how a vegan restaurant can't even receive a good review without you having to throw your two cents in about the lifestyle. Did you like the food? Yes. I happen to like all the vegan food I eat, and its full of flavors.
