Hi there....can you BELIEVE I danced at the Hiliter back in the 70's....that place was a PARTY! Back then we weren't even topless....but I still remember all the fun!
BEST STRIP CLUB - 2007
What else could you ask for? Well, you didn't ask for it, but here's a little history: The Hi-Liter's been in business in one form or another since 1962; it was a piano bar before it went go-go in the '70s. And, oddly, it had a hand in the creation of what eventually became Hustler magazine. According to Larry Flynt, who explains it all in his autobiography An Unseemly Man, it was while scouting strip clubs in Phoenix back in the day that he spotted a copy of the still-extant freebie adult newspaper Bachelor's Beat. Flynt's Dayton, Ohio, franchise of this PHX pub eventually morphed into Hustler, which now has its offices in a big, black building in Beverly Hills. Class dismissed. So Hi-Liter has another claim to fame other than being an awesome chichi bar, and one of the many places Mike Tyson's flipped out at while living in Sand Land.
Ah, yes the ole Hi-liter, I remember, back in the day (late 70's) when it was THE club, it also had a distict odor, due to sewage problems. I have fond memories and it will always be my club of choice.
i'm touched that the hi-liter is still going...first strip bar i went to in the 70's and was kind of my local bar when i lived around 16th street and camelback in the 80s. i always had a good time there
Hi-lighter....? Over exposed, and way under valued for a true small spot with a flair for the exotic...check out Babes of Scottsdale. Not only is where the best looking dancers are it feels like a club atmosphere. Great dancers...only problem; drinks are a little pricy!!!
Been to this place before! Still run down. They need to follow Pin-ups lead and remodel the whole place! Oh Yeah bring in better girls!
