Our new china looks great and has garnered a number of oohs and a couple of ahs, and if we're hesitant to tell where we got it, it's not because we're embarrassed to admit we shop in thrift stores. We're just a little reluctant to let the secret out that we've rediscovered the best one in town. The former Florence Crittenton Thrift Shop is now Flo's on 7th, as in Seventh Avenue, where its new location offers twice as much space and a hundred times more cool bargains in a clean, odor-free secondhand shop like none other in Phoenix. Furniture, dishware, clothing, appliances, even great old 45 RPM records — Flo's has it all, all neatly organized and expertly displayed, and for truly down-and-dirty prices besides. Fans of old linens will want to make Flo's a regular haunt, because vintage tablecloths, napkins, and window treatments are among Flo's specialties. Flow on in Monday through Saturday, 10 to 6, and grab a bargain or two.

I don't see Flo's on the 2008 list. Guess the changes that people who know nothing about retail wanted weren't good choices.

Too bad that those same people running Florence Crittenton respect their desire to manipulate people rather than what is truly best for "the girls". I don't think America is the only place needing a change. I think the hierarchy of FC needs one to!

This is looking more and more like a Goodwill.

Real big change here. Big. Merchandise is crammed in the clothing area. Very loose in the furniture and other items. Rather bleak these days. Rather like many other thrift stores. I thought this was touted as a boutique resale shop. What happened?

Let me tell you-there's been a big change in this store. There is NO furniture in there. Okay, maybe a few pieces. There are so many clothing racks jammed into the place that my mother's wheelchair couldn't get around to look at stuff and the guy working was so rude to us that we left without buying a thing.

I used to shop here all the time-every week I'd take mom down and just look around. I don't want to be in a store that my mom can't easily navigate. Is this legal?

Heidi, Heidi-

Do you have a receipt? Did the product come from their store? How long ago did you buy it? I had a problem once and the manager took care of it right away. Even though there is a sign that says All Sales Final.

I just think maybe there might be more to your story because they've always been very pleasant to me. I shop there about once a week to get the best deals.

This is a great store! I think Pat and Loraine there are great!! And Florence Crittenton does so much good work.

My 78 year old mother bought a billfold from Flo's that their "experts" guaranteed was real Chanel for $90. I looked it over it was very FAKE and I went into talk to them, said they'd call back....I've called, I've emailed, they are avoiding me. I am not happy, and neither is my mother.

Hey, I have to tell you, Flo's is a great store! I am not surprised they made "the best." I shop there about once a week and donate often. I love to donate to here, they are so nice and always offer help in getting things from my car! I love seeing all of the new things that come in and how quick my stuff gets out. I think it's funny to see my stuff for sale, but it is always reasonable and no comparison to other shops they know their stuff. Oh, and as for the other places, I've been to many of them. I have yet found a store that smells, looks and has a comfortable environment like Flo's. They have the best employees and management around! They are always welcoming and friendly. Not many thrift stores great you with a smile and ask how you are doing. They remember me! I always tell people where I buy my stuff, but I always talk with excitement when I got it from Flo's.They must really love their jobs at Flo's, because they are always smiling! Keep up the good work; it is great to have you in town! Dawn

I hear you Morgan! I for one need a Flo's on 7th fix at least once a week. If you see something you like, grab it because things don't stay long. It's the best "high end resale" shop I've every experienced.

Sounds like Dan up there runs another thrift store in the valley!!!! lol Cuz I just bought a BEAUTIFUL skirt by Black White House Market, a GORGEOUS Ann Taylor blouse, AND a pair of Dollhouse shoes for under $15!!!!! Can you believe it? An ENTIRE outfit for under 15 bucks! They also have new markdowns too, up to 75% off white tags in the store through next week! So whatever, DAN... when I want QUALITY goods for an affordable price, I go to Flo's!!!! :)

I'm sorry, Flo's on 7th??? Have you checked out the other resale stores in the valley??? There are many more in the valley that carry comparable merchadise that also provides neccessary services to the needy, but at MUCH lower prices.

Florence Crittenton does provide excellent services to those in need of assistance, so you should shop there, but for the bargains on merchandise, you will need to check out one of the many other resale shops in town!!!

This place is awesome! I like it because the people that work there are really nice and the place always smells so good. It's like you're in a department store with the best deals instead of a resale store.

It's really clean too....and the selection! I got a pair of designer "Seven" jeans for a less than $20. They looked brand new and these retail for over $100.

I go about once or twice a week to catch the best deals. They mark stuff down every two weeks which is off the hook. I want the first choice...

I love this place, too! I'm a big fan of shopping resale, and there is absolutely nothing else in the Valley like Flo's on 7th . The merchandise is first rate, the prices are low, and the roomy and tidy atmosphere is very inviting. When you go, plan to stay awhile since the store is so large and fun you'll want to see it all. Be sure to bring some of your own first-rate donations, too.

I agree! Flo's on 7th is a refreshing approach to thrift. It's a wonderful store with great customer service and selection. The best part about the store is that the net proceeds all go to Florence Crittenton's programs, serving Arizona's abused and neglected teen girls, and providing education through Crittenton Academy. It's a great place to shop and a great place for your donations!
