We've been huge fans of falafel since way back in our student days, when the neighborhood falafel joint kept us well fed on a budget. What's not to love about a hot, crispy, fried chickpea ball? Our first taste of the fantastic falafel at Spices, though, took the obsession to a whole new level. Here, the falafel is formed into small patties and perfectly cooked so that the inside stays still moist and flavorful and the outside is light and crisp. (Too many restaurants serve a hard, crunchy version that takes a lot of tahini to soften it.) Whether tucked into a fresh pita or served as an entrée with salad, hummus, tahini, and pickles, it's something we find ourselves craving all the time. We're sure that our younger selves would be envious.

This place IS great. I was so excited to see a Mediterranean place open upThis place IS great. I was so excited to see a Mediterranean place open up so close to where I live. I remember my girlfriend at the time handing me a promotional leaflet or flyer for it, and I was there within the first week it was open.

The falafel IS amazing. And Etgar (?) is super nice. I love the doing the falafel platter. So many places give you just falafel pitas, I just want to say, �Gimme falafel. Gimme tahini. Here�s my wallet, keep em comin.�

I would list this restaurant as Best Falafel in the owners own mind. He raves about it constantly but to tell you the truth its really meh. Overpriced food.

I went there this past year and had the falafel. It was undercooked. I will NEVER go back there again.

I agree.The falafel at spices is the best.Crispy on the outside, soft and green on the inside.Exactly like a good falafel needs to look and taste.But I think this restaurant should win all categories as far as middle E. food.I grew up on that kind of food, and I will eat my falafel, humes, kabobs, shawarma- only at spices.
