Into 3D printing, radio, gaming, augmented humanity, pomo fiber arts, musical tech, or just making and inventing in general? HeatSync is a community-supported space where folks of those bents can play, demo, craft, swap ideas, knuckle down on projects, hack, gossip, or just observe. Along with the power of multiple brains, visiting HeatSync Labs gives you an opportunity to use equipment — like lasers, welders, oscilloscopes, and the Cupcake printer — that can be tough for individuals to purchase and maintain. Check out the online discussion boards and events calendar for details, and plan some face time. See a video of HeatSync Labs.

I was there the night they shot the video. Where is the rest of it?

This two minute clip misses two-thirds of what's at HeatSync. There's a fully equipped metal shop (lathe, mill, saws), welding booth, laser cutter, and wood-shop. Lots of electronics (soldering, components, test equipment), and loads of robotic stuff and micro-controller development; especially Arduino stuff--hundreds of parts to experiment with.

The article should say "come in and WORK on something".

@willbradley can you split the difference with the New Times and say @heatsynclabs is a place for inspiration? That allows both endeavors .

@willbradley I'm hanging out while getting shit done. Does that count?

@willbradley @heatsynclabs in their defense the text emphasises Getting Shit Done.

@willbradley @heatsynclabs Should I quit telling people to come hang out?

@DouglasCP literally, if you come to HSL to hang out or gossip, you're killing us. Tours are OK but we're a workspace not a coffee shop.

@meznak @willbradley NO GET OUT.

@rrrrrrrix yeh it's just the one sentence that runs the risk of lots of socializers thinking that's what we're here for.

@monteslu "come make stuff" would be a bit better :)

@rrrrrrrix @meznak I felt a pain in my chest at "gossip"
