AZ ACLU Director Alessandra Soler Meetze Withdraws from 9/11 Conference
Though her name's still up as a "Confirmed Speaker" on 911Accountability.org, AZ ACLU Director Alessandra Soler Meetze told me today that she's withdrawing from the conference and has advised Kent Knudson that she will not be attending. Meetze explained that she thought she would be discussing civil liberties in post-9/11 America, but Knudson informed her that the panel discussion she was scheduled for was in fact going to be about some crazy "Citizens Grand Jury" group that wants to go after people for the "crimes" of 9/11.
"I don't want to sit there and keep saying how the ACLU has never taken a position on 9/11 conspiracy issues," Meetze explained. "And I don't think people at the conference want to listen to me say that over and over."
Meetze's withdrawal is a major blow to the upcoming 9/11 conference in Chandler, as Knudson and his marble-deficient pals scramble to secure mainstream participants for this dingbat symposium. First Charles Goyette, now the ACLU! Crikey, a couple of them have even tried roping me into their cuckoo conference -- supposedly as a debate participant. I'll debate them on the phone, via e-mail, and one-on-one. But I'm not going to be part of their half-wit hayride. I'm here to report the thing, not join up.
In other news, the clerk of Navajo County Superior Court tells me that on 2/2 Kent Knudson (the de facto head of the conference) entered into a sentencing agreement in his cow-shooting felony case. He waives the right to appeal, but he gets to avoid jail time as long as he pays restitution in the amount of three times the cost of the offed critter. There'll be yet another hearing on March 5 to determine the actual amount to be paid. So even if Charles Goyette and Alessandra Soler Meetze are no-shows, at least conference-goers will be allowed to enjoy the genius that is Kent "Cow-Killer" Knudson, convicted felon.
PS: Meetze also let me in on the fact that recent e-mails from Knudson to her were cc'd to none other than Holocaust denier Eric Williams, who is supposedly no longer a part of the Chandler 9/11 conference.
PPS: This just in from Knudson's garage. Actually, um, "Sham" will leading the meeting. Nutty. Very nutty.
