Hollywood director Robert Rodriguez of Sin City and El Mariachi fame has dissected Arizona's new "papers please" legislation in the coolest way imaginable, producing what he calls an "illegal trailer" for his upcoming Mexploitation flick Machete, a trailer that slices and dices the new law with abandon.
With a cast starring badass Los Angeles actor Danny Trejo, Robert DeNiro, Cheech Marin, Lindsay Lohan, Jessica Alba and others, Rodriguez carves up state Senator Russell Pearce's law in this special Cinco de Mayo video, which features Trejo as a day-laborer/assassin kicking backside and taking names.

Rodriguez obviously filmed special sequences with Trejo for the trailer, which was first posted to Ain't It Cool News, and soon went viral. DeNiro is dead-on as a nativist Western politician who campaigns using Mexicans as his punching bag, just like every Republican windbag in this state.
Trejo is double-crossed when he tries to assassinate DeNiro, and he's out for revenge. I love the scene where he goes looking for help from Cheech Marin, who plays a priest.
Marin: You want me to help you kill all these men?
Trejo: Yes, bro.
Marin: I'll see what I can do.
There's also a "revolutionary" Jessica Alba shooting her fist into the air, shouting to a crowd, "We didn't cross the border, the border crossed us!"
And you gotta love the grindhouse-style voiceover: "But they soon realize...they fucked with the wrong Mexican..."
If there were any justice in the world, Russell Pearce and Governor Jan Brewer would be strapped to chairs and forced to watch this trailer over, and over and over again. Not that they'd change. But it would be fun to watch 'em squirm.
