It means devil in Italian, but Diavolo the brainchild of the Parisian mastermind whos created shows for Cirque de Soleil is actually a group of dancers trained in ballet, modern dance, martial arts, and acrobatics. They perform what The Minneapolis Star Tribune calls a wild mash-up between Cirque du Soleil and American Gladiators with Vegas-style showmanship on a massive teeter-totter structure. Diavolo dancers leap, fly, twirl, catapult, slam, and swan-dive on a giant cube that turns into a pyramid, a huge spinning wheel, and a colossal ship-like platform.
