In case you didn't know, classic cocktails are totally in right now. As in, modern takes on cocktails with historically-significant names that only a well-versed bartender would know how to make. That's the stuff we expect nowadays, and it's just the variety of inebriant in which the handlebar-mustached, bolo-tie-wearing barkeep Travis Nass specializes.
Fledgling mixologists can take a cocktail crash course with the Last Drop Bar “Spirit Guide” on Sunday, June 16, from 2 to 4 p.m. The class will feature all there is to know about gin, from its history to flavors. Pupils will also receive two cocktails and recipes to take and try at home. The lesson will be capped at 10 attendees leaving plenty of time for questions, too.
Summer mixology courses at the Last Drop Bar at Lon's at the Hermosa Inn, 5532 North Palo Christi Road in Paradise Valley, cost $30 per person and reservations are required. To register call 602-955-7878.
Third Sunday of every month, 2-4 p.m. Starts: May 19. Continues through July 21, 2013
