For years macaroni and cheese has been billed as a perfect food for tiny tots. But at the Mac and Cheese Throwdown, some of the city's best chefs will prove it's not just for kids' meals anymore.
Nine chefs, including Michael Rusconi of Rusconi's American Kitchen and Jeff Caswell of EVO Scottsdale, will compete to see whose cheesy creation reigns supreme. The 21-and-over event promises fancy mix-ins like lobster, duck confit, and more, with attendees helping crown a People's Choice winner. Admission gets you two votes, with additional votes available for $1 a piece. With unlimited samples up for grabs, expect more mac 'n' cheese than you should probably eat in one day.
The event will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, November 17, at Renegade by MOD, 9343 East Shea Boulevard in Scottdale. Tickets to the Mac and Cheese Throwdown cost $22, the cash bar is not included. For more information, visit www.girlmeetsfork.com or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
