Twenty-eleven was not kind to Todd Bodine. The two-time NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion failed to win a single race that year, and bad luck followed him to every track. Bodine’s misfortune streak was on full display at last year’s Lucas Oil 150 when he was spun out by Austin Dillon, causing a three-truck crash that effectively took Bodine out of the race.
Heading into this year’s Lucas 150, Bodine’s luck hasn’t gotten much better. He’s near the bottom of the table. This means that Bodine won’t have much to lose when he takes the track at Phoenix International Raceway, 7602 South Avondale Boulevard in Avondale, on Friday, November 9. While Austin Dillon has moved on to the Nationwide Series, you can’t help but wonder if a small part of Bodine will be gunning for Dillon’s younger brother Ty, who sits just a handful of points out of first. But Ty's title hopes could be derailed quickly if his luck is as bad as Bodine’s was last year.
