It’s not easy to define the place you’re from, the culture you inherited, or the people who created it, but three local artists have accepted the challenge.
"Define: American" is currently on view at Method Art Gallery, featuring the work of sculptor and mixed-media artist Christine Cassano and painters Hugo Medina and DOSE. The exhibition aims to capture the perception of America, as viewed by artists and audiences in Arizona. Curators Gina Azima and Nicole Scheufler write, “By showcasing these artists, their work will allow the concept of American to be seen in a new light, as it depicts a diverse outlook of this country.”
Tuesdays-Fridays, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.; Thursdays, 7-9 p.m.; Saturdays, 12-5 p.m. Starts: July 3. Continues through July 28, 2012
