Don't Call It a Comeback
Chicago Cubs fans are a miserable lot, but with good reason. It’s been 104 dismal, disappointing seasons since the Boys in Blue experienced World Series glory and the last century’s been a tortuous mish-mash of curses, June Swoons, and Steve Bartman.
These days, however, there’s much optimism amongst the Cubbies faithful. The source of such hope? Theo Epstein. The same baseball wunderkind who ended the Red Sox’s championship agonies hopes to do the same for Chi-Town as team president. It’ll probably take years to accomplish said feat, but don’t tell that to the Cubs Nation. They’ll rabidly cheer on their team, even when visiting another squad’s stadium, like during Chicago’s game with the Texas Rangers on Thursday, March 22, at Surprise Stadium.
Speaking of resurgent teams, the Cleveland Indians and its crop of young hitters, including Carlos Santana and Jason Kipnis, have an outside shot of making the postseason this year. Catch the squads stars of the future when they battle the Prince Fielder-less Milwaukee Brewers on Monday, March 26, at Goodyear Ballpark.
