As preseason football goes, the match-up that the Arizona Cardinals drew for their third practice game on August 24 is actually pretty interesting. When the Cincinnati Bengals come to town, it’ll be the first time they’ve faced the Cards since 2011 and the first time Carson Palmer, longtime Bengals QB, faces his former team as a Cardinal. Yes, it’s still preseason football, which is to real football as the McRib is to a filet mignon. But, being right in the middle of what we at New Times not-so-lovingly refer to as the Sports Abyss – that annual period when there’s nothing to watch but baseball and people doing CrossFit workouts – we’ll take what we can get. The Cardinals’ third preseason game kicks off at 5 p.m. Sunday, August 24, at University of Phoenix Stadium, 1 Cardinals Drive in Glendale. Tickets start at $32.
