Next time you’re at Herberger Theater Center, sashay up the grand staircase (or simply take the elevator) to the Steele Pavilion Art Gallery for a fresh exhibition of two- and three-dimensional pieces from 24 different artists. The show’s name and theme is “Balance,” a state highly touted as natural and satisfying, even if dramatic departures from equilibrium might seem more appealing to us easily distracted types.
The juried display by Arizona-resident artists is scheduled through Monday, March 3, so no matter what takes you downtown, you’ll have an opportunity to examine several perspectives on the tricky tightrope. Guest curator Heather Kirk selected Nina Pak, art director for print-on-demand fashion and arts magazine Miroir, as the exhibit’s featured artist.
Admission is free during building hours (10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, beginning January 13), during performances, and by appointment, at 222 East Monroe Street. Call 602-254-7399 for more information or visit www.herbergertheater.org/art_gallery.
