Spring training, much like spring itself, never seems to last quite long enough in Phoenix. In a few weeks the temperatures will reach unbearable heights, the number of competitive baseball teams will narrow down to a handful, and the spotlight will focus, as always, on Boston and New York. For now, while the weather is nice, every team is a title contender, and all eyes are on Phoenix.
To enjoy Cactus League Spring Training while you still can, there are a host of full-squad games being played at 1:05 p.m. Thursday, March 8. Arguably the most compelling matchups feature AL West contenders. The defending AL Champion Texas Rangers will play the Chicago White Sox at Surprise Recreation Campus, 15960 North Bullard Avenue. A few miles away, the Rangers’ biggest threat -- the Angels -- will take on the Cleveland Indians at Goodyear Ballpark. In total there will be seven games played across the Valley, first pitch times vary.
