For the Birds
Even if you dont follow football, you probably know that the Arizona Cardinals have quarterback issues. The unceremonious cutting of party-boy Matt Leinart, and the rapid ascent (and subsequent descent) of local-boy-made-good Max Hall have helped the Cards stay culturally relevant during an otherwise forgettable season.
What you might not know is that the local homeboys are still alive and kicking in the race to win the NFC West. This fact makes todays tilt between the Cards and the division-leading Seattle Seahawks at University of Phoenix Stadium a little more interesting. Due to the NFLs tiebreaking rules (and the Cardinals loss last month in Seattle), this tussle could effectively be worth two games in the standings. A win would help AZ secure the tiebreaker advantage in a close NFC West, while a loss would guarantee a serious benefit for the Seahawks.
