Most superstitions are pretty silly. Clumsy people are bound to break mirrors and thousands of people keep black cats as pets, yet some folks still get the willies on Friday the 13th. The date can occur up to three times a year, so what’s to fear? Hip dance night RAD intends to laugh in the face of superstitions during its Friday the 13th party, featuring all sorts of bad luck décor. Jason Voorhees hockey masks will be available for patrons as they groove to pulsating music at the hands of the DJs responsible for Shake!, Hot Pink, Party Foul, and Sticky Fingers. “Think house party with your favorite music from the '60s to today,” says William Reed , RAD’s newest resident DJ.
Try your luck on Friday, September 13, at Apollo’s Lounge, 5749 North Seventh Street. This 21-and-over event is free before 10 p.m. Call 602-277-9373 or visit www.facebook.com/areyourad.
Fri., Sept. 13, 9 p.m., 2013
