Fox Mulder's undeniable hotness, er, relentless pursuit of the truth regarding alien existence on Earth kept believers and skeptics alike glued to the tube on Sunday nights for nine years via The X-Files. Dr. Stephen Greer, meanwhile, as the founder and director of the nonprofit organization The Disclosure Project, has been gathering proof that we're not alone for more than a decade, and is devoted to hipping the public to what he says is a "long-running, 50-plus-year conspiracy" between the government and corporations to keep the existence of extraterrestrial life "under wraps."
Greer, a trauma doctor who gave up his practice six years ago to pursue the cause, is also a nephew of one of the builders of the lunar module that propelled Neil Armstrong onto the surface of the moon, giving him an early fascination with spacecrafts and how they have affected the environment.
Why the government wants to keep a lid on the truth, Greer says, is also environmentally oriented -- the feds don't want to relinquish control of resources for fear that it would put a dent in their status as the reigning supreme power. At both his lecture and workshop at Arizona State University on Friday, April 22, and Saturday, April 23, Greer will present documents, sworn testimonials from top secret military and intelligence agents, and studies showing that UFOs have been utilizing energy sources that would completely replace the need for oil, gas, coal and centralized utilities.
"We're not interested in talking about all of the stereotypical alien subject matter," says Greer. "What we have is a very positive message. We have the solutions to some of our most intractable problems. And with the release of this information, we have the ability to change our world and move towards a clean environment and stop warring over fuel."
