Harold and Mod
Science and art are not mutually exclusive, and never have been. Dont believe us? Then how else can one explain the work of Harold E. Edgerton, whose Seeing the Unseen: Photographs by Harold E. Edgerton exhibit showcases imagery not shot through the lens of some fancy digital SLR or TLR, but photographed through stroboscopy and ultra-high-speed technology during the frigging 1930s to 1960s?
The Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art presents the free "High-Tech Imaging: When Science Meets Art" lecture. Local photographer and ASU prof Robby Roberson discusses advanced bio-imaging pioneered by the late mad scientist Edgerton, whose inventions eventually led to electronic flash photography.
