Sat 3/22
Having trouble getting the little ones into learning mode? The Deer Valley Rock Art Center is making Arizona Archaeology Month accessible for kids. The Children's Rock Art Expo on Saturday, March 22, explains rock art and archeological discoveries while showcasing Sonoran Desert vegetation and wildlife.

Kids (and their parents) get "tricked" into learning about archaeology through hands-on activities, games and storytelling. They won't even know what hit them. Neither will you.

The nonprofit center, at 3711 West Deer Valley Road, sits on 47 acres of preserved land and boasts the largest collection of petroglyphs in the Valley.

The expo, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., is included in regular museum admission: $5 for adults, $2 for ages 6 to 12, and $3 for seniors and students. Children under 5 are admitted free, and families of three or more receive half-price admission. Call 623-582-8007 for details. Quetta Carpenter

Off To See The Lizards
Talk about a comeback tour. They've been extinct for 65 million years, but a quartet of dinosaurs is back to claim its 15 minutes. On Saturday, March 22, Mesa Southwest Museum presents The Cretaceous Cabaret, a musical take on extinction. Showtime is 1 p.m. at the museum, 53 North Macdonald. Tickets are free with regular admission; call 480-644-5083. Jill Koch

Ice, Ice, Baby
The little ones will love Disney on Ice, a Mickey Mouse musical extravaganza on skates, with appearances by popular Tinseltown 'toon characters, from Snow White to the 101 Dalmatians. Performances run Wednesday, March 26, through Sunday, March 30, at America West Arena, 201 East Jefferson. Tickets, $11.75 to $45, are available through Ticketmaster, 480-784-4444. Michele Laudig
