Comedian and actor Tim Meadows always plays it cool. The all-time second longest running Saturday Night Live cast member (1991-2000) glides through skits, gags, improv, and stand-up with a delivery that’s slicker than a polar bear on ice.
But those observing Meadows in films such as Mean Girls (school principal), Tropic Thunder (slightly deranged soldier), and Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (Dewey’s “gateway” sidekick) know that disarming technique provides just half the laughs. More come from Meadows’ facial-expressions-as-a-comedic-weapon, combined with a lightning fast wit. Expect this and more from the humorist who parlayed his role as Leon Phelps, “The Ladies’ Man” on SNL, into a feature movie of the same name. Now that was a joke.
