With the Arizona Diamondbacks struggling to stay out of the NL West cellar, its a good time to count the teams blessings. By the luck of the draw, the D-Backs have the fortune of playing in a division thats consistently one of the weakest in the Majors. That means even this years struggling team has a shot at making the playoffs.
The games will give fans a look at a team from the other side of the tracks. The D-Backs opponents, the Toronto Blue Jays, have had all hope of playoff success stolen from them by fate. For the last decade, the Blue Jays have carried the curse of playing in the same division as the two premier teams in the league: the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees. In spite of the hopelessness of their situation, Toronto -- led by 2009 Comeback Player of the Year Aaron Hill -- is a solid team thats playing well. The D-Backs should have their hands full when the teams take the field.
