One of the biggest bummers about a relatively new city like Phoenix is the absence of established markets, à la New York City, Tokyo, Mexico City, and even places like Kumasi, Ghana. But what those on-cultural-steroids haunts may not have is a countrified, chill-out gathering featuring Native American, Latino, and Southwestern fine artists and savvy crafters. The second annual Cave Creek Indian Market taking place this weekend at Stagecoach Village can boast all of that with its six-section, 60-artist-plus gathering place that will also feature grub and traditional Native dancers. And theres this bonus: Unlike bigger-city markets, youre probably not going to find body parts for sale.
