The restless music-hunter isn’t satisfied with what’s served up on the Top 40. If you found the Grammys more blah-some than awesome, the Oh My God, My Body, My Ears! concert performance marathon of modern, new, and emerging music compositions on Saturday, February 15, might be your bag.
To kick off the festivities, Terry Riley’s 1964 minimalist work “In C” will be played multiple times by multiple musicians. The continually growing roster of Valley performers includes Elizabeth Kennedy Mayer on flute, Jenna Dalby on cello, and free-jazz group Static Announcements tackling works of composers from all over the world. Though the event will run for 10 hours, attendees are welcome to come and go as they please.
Oh My God, My Body, My Ears! will be unleashed at The Trunk Space, 1506 NW Grand Avenue in Phoenix. The shindig starts at noon and continues until 10 p,m. Admission is $12. For more info, visit www.ohmyears.com.
