Fantasy literature is one of the largest segments of the fiction book market. The genre has been around for hundreds of years and includes such classics as Gulliver’s Travels, Peter Pan, The Wizard of Oz, Alice in Wonderland, and Lord of the Rings. Hundreds of aspiring and practicing fantasy writers hoping for similarly successful tomes -- and excited genre fans -- hit Avondale this weekend for CopperCon 32, the longest running fantasy lit conference in the Valley. The event features panels with author guests of honor Ari Marmell and James A. Owen, writing workshops, a short story contest, a masquerade/costume walk (Rule 5: “Thou shalt not slime thy neighbor”), and a 24-hour gaming room.
