There was much that merited disappointment during the second half of the Arizona Diamondbacks’ 2013 season, but one of the biggest disappointments for D-Backs fans has been the atmosphere at home games. Arizona’s collapse seemed to suck the life -- and the fun -- out of Chase Field. Say what you will about the level of play you’ll see at the Mexican Baseball Fiesta this weekend, but the games certainly won’t want for ambiance.

The Mexican Pacific League, renowned for the lively atmosphere at its games, will be bringing its two most storied franchises (the Obregon Yaquis and Hermosillo Naranjeros) to Salt River Fields, 7555 North Pima Road. The two squads will square off on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and will take on prospects from the D-Backs and Kansas City Royals for a doubleheader at 5 p.m. Tickets start at $10 and are available at the www.saltriverfields.com/events.aspx.
