Brian Brooks lives in a psychedelic world -- one filled with optimism. That’s evident in the artist's first solo show “Now That Looks Like Fun: The Colorful Claw, Woof & Feathers of Brian Brooks & His Spectral Friends,” in which his artwork reveals a place full of anthropomorphic animals where everyone gets along. Brooks’ vivid art is void of humans and finds animals in control of a universe where cats and dogs wear chef’s pants and T-shirts featuring each others' portraits. Also featured in the exhibition are his books of pen and ink drawings. Of the three displayed, the most fun can be had with Brooks’ series of potential tattoos, specifically the kind you don’t want. Radd/Badd Tattoos: A collection of horrible ideas for tattoos is rather self-explanatory, but will illicit laughs as well as grimaces. Adventures Of Everything details what happens when humanlike objects venture off into unexpected habitats.
