Pickle Your Poison

It’s the time of year for extended vacations to anywhere that’s not quite as hot as here. And luckily, “getaways” of the culinary persuasion – where you can experience the flavors of a different culture without having to buy a pricey plane ticket – are everywhere you look.

On Monday, July 15, Scottsdale’s pig-centric eatery Pig and Pickle is bringing the flavors of the Hawaiian Islands to the table with Pints & Plates, a beer-paired dinner featuring the brews of Maui Brewing Co. They’ll serve island-inspired eats including Spam musubi and spicy fish poke for a four-course voyage that will have you feeling the seas breezes of Lahina. As for beer, expect a Bikini Blonde Ale and Coconut Porter.

The limited seating dinner at Pig and Pickle, 2922 North Hayden Road in Scottsdale, costs $44.44 per person and begins at 6:30 p.m. For reservations or more information, call 480-990-1407 or visit
