He created a pogo stick that disco dances, takes photos of his friends being thrown into the air (ouch!), and broke a Greek sculpture in the name of art. Wacky L.A. artist Martin Kersels discusses the strange and sordid history of his work in a gallery talk and Lecture Musicale held in conjunction with the exhibit Seriously Funny. Expect the unexpected, as Kersels plans to use everything but the kitchen sink music, tripped-out slideshows, interpretive dance to explain his newest piece, Headache, a 10-foot-tall drum pedal that mimics a bobbing ship.
