Consider for a moment the bright lights of debaucherous Las Vegas, and the signs that bear them. To vacationers, the beaming bulbs signal good times ahead. But, among architects, the form of flashy commercial signage is a contentious subject.
In the discussion Signscape Architecture, architects and co-founders of Seattles Lead Pencil Studio Annie Han and Daniel Mihalyo talk with Jason Griffiths, an award-winning architect and professor. The dialogue occurs in conjunction with Extended Collapse, Han and Mihalyos architectural installation, which is on display at SMoCA through October 16.
