What better way to forestall the summertime forgetting of what the kids learned in school than to infuse them with the best educational earworms of all time? We’re talking about “Conjunction Junction,” “Interplanet Janet,” “Three Is a Magic Number,” the increasingly ironic “Just a Bill,” and the rest. Schoolhouse Rock Live! is exactly what it sounds like, and it’s obvious why the songs have been popular for generations and Childsplay’s production returns from time to time to suck in more delighted families.
Suggested for people 6 and older, the show plays through Sunday, May 25, with colorful new Minecraft- and Tetris-inspired designs and an even beatier feel to the classic score. Enjoy a refresher course (how rusty is your Preamble?) Sunday, May 18, at 1 p.m. at Tempe Center for the Arts, 700 West Rio Salado Parkway. Tickets range from $12 to $25 at www.childsplayaz.org or 480-350-2822.
Sun., April 20, 4 p.m.; Saturdays, 1 & 4 p.m.; Sundays, 1 p.m. Starts: April 20. Continues through May 25, 2014
