It’s kinda ironic that SoCal’s Mad Caddies entitled their latest album Keep It Going, since the ska-punk sextet is doing just that. Ironic not in a cheeky, Flight of the Conchords way, but rather because the Caddies are still rolling with the whole ska-punk thing when Reel Big Fish, The Aquabats, No Doubt, and numerous other Cali bands from the “Great Ska Revival” of ten years ago have long since dropped their horn sections in lieu of a poppier, audience-friendly sound. Their jams have also become more grounded in reggae, dancehall, and other Jamaican styles, but still retain a hard punk edge. Hear it for yourself when the Caddies perform at the Clubhouse with support from With The Supervillians, and local 2 Week Notice (formerly known as BizCasFri).
