The Whoring Twenties
The 1920s seem glamorous to 14-year-old girls lacking in American history. Case in point, young gals (including us, back in the day) who whore it up for Halloween, complete with garter belts and flapper gear. Now we're thinking that if we were stuck in that decade, we'd be more like the chick in the play Chicago, the classic Kander and Ebb musical about a Prohibition-era woman who lost her shit and murdered her dude namely, the slutty and devious Roxie Hart. Not only does she shoot the guy she's boning on the side, but she wiggles out of a conviction by hiring the slimiest lawyer in town to dupe the media into believing she's an innocent peach. All this goes down to a killer soundtrack and kickass dance numbers.
