It's bizarre to think that this time last year the Arizona Cardinals were 4-0, sitting proudly atop one the NFL's toughest divisions. Of course we all know how that fairytale ended. Equally as bizarre is the fact that, while not exactly 4-0, the prognosis for the remainder of the Cards 2013-14 season is markedly better than the last. Despite having a gruesome schedule that will likely leave the birds hovering at or below .500 by season's end, GM Steve Keim certainly has the ship headed in the right direction, which oughta be enough to quell the stirrings of the red sea for now. And given the intensity of their schedule, it's fair to call a visit from Cam Newton's not-so-ferocious Carolina Panthers a reprieve of sorts, a golden opportunity to pad the "W" column. The Cards host Carolina at Glendale's University of Phoenix Stadium, 1 West Cardinals Drive, on Sunday, October 6, at 1:05 p.m. For more details and tickets ($30 and up) visit, www.azcardinals.com or call 602-379-0102.
