Wheels of Fare
How do you pick the 10 best food trucks in America? The Huffington Post tried recently, and not one of its picks was in Phoenix. What do they know, anyway? Phoenicians can put together their own top 10 lists when the 2013 Taste of the Trucks returns to Roosevelt Row for two days of scrumptious eats. Fifty trucks (25 each day) -- staples across the metro area -- will provide samples of their best fare, from Thai to tacos, burgers to brats, kung pao to pho, and pizza to pierogi, among the wheeled culinary delights, all included with admission. A beer/wine garden will offer local libations, while local bands provide chow-worthy music.
Bring that empty stomach to 414 East Roosevelt Road, 10 a.m to 6 p.m. Saturday, October 26, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, October 27. Tickets are $20 for kids 5 to 12 and $35 for those 13 and older. Two-day passes are available. Call 602-772-0083 or visit www.facebook.com/TasteOfTheTrucks.
Sat., Oct. 26, 6-10 p.m.; Sun., Oct. 27, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., 2013
